I have been stalking the forum on and off for three years, began visiting more frequently after moving to Virginia because I am totally paranoid about the mechanicals of my truck, joined recently and am now making my first post.

The attached photo is the "after" from this weekend's maintenance. Had I known it would be so dramatic I would have taken a "before" photo. Dawn dish liquid cuts through grease as advertised! That is now one clean skid plate that formerly had enough muck in it to trap and hold the stick and spark plug seen at the bottom of the photo. I do drive my Hummer every day and off road. As the operations chief where Marine officers are trained (not screened and subsequently commissioned) I took my own truck out to the field. Thus the accumulation of muck required to secure a spark plug!

Results are all lube points freshened up with new synthetic grease, a failing water pump gasket, and the infamous factory crimp leak from the oil cooler.

With all of that being said, is there an easier fix to the oil cooler leak instead of replacing the whole line?
