Wiring ROOF LIGHTS??

Wiring ROOF LIGHTS??
Hi all, I have an 2003 H2. Want to run some wire for some HID lights that I will be putting on my roof rack. I have heard that the wires will run down through the left hand roof marker light?? Is this correct? Then down the "A-pilar"? Please advise? Is this a hard job, I would really like to do it myself....the HID were expensive enough!!
