I just noticed a wire inside the glove box on the righthand side of the box. it has a small loop on it. Can someone tell me what thats for??

It appears that you found the cable that attaches to the glove box to prevent it from hanging all the way down. Check the box, if I am right then there should be a round, knobby projection off the box, attach it there........No if it's an actual wire then I don't know..................

 

I think the wire that you're talking about is a little cable that just keeps the glovebox from slamming down when you open it. Check out the attached picture. maybe it's just not connected on yours?
