Default Windshield Work In DFW

I have to pass this one; I needed a new windshield and contact all the obvious folks. Gunner_45 gave me the name of Stan Young (Auto Glass R US) at 972-877-2704. The man goes beyond expectations - Really. The work and finish product are Outstanding. My windshield was the original flat type that GM started out with. The replacement is the newer H3 type with the slight bow and better/improve tinting. He added a screw to the top of the molding that improves their fit.

Glad it worked out for ya.

Mr. Young has always done an outstanding job for a reasonable price.

I've never heard of this "newer type with a slight bow"......when did they change over to that?

GM changed the supplier and design after the 06 Model. If you look at the glass from the side you will see that it is not flat, but has a slight bow outward. Sitting inside, this gives you a sense that this glass is more forward.

im thinking really flat windshield glass disappeared from the American automotive scene about 59 years ago. it might have been more flat but not really flat.

I'm thinking you've not owned a Jeep.

Thumbs up

We've had two '06's and now have an '08.

The windshield is definitely different.

I second that, my original seemed flatter than the replacement one that was installed last week cause pumpkins do break glass when hurled at it. Damn kids and halloween
