I have a 2002 H1 Wagon and the drivers window gets stuck about 3 inches down. It works fine up and down the first 3 inches, but any farther and it jams. I have to pull it up to "un-jam" it, then motor works again. AM General customer support of course suggested taking it to the dealer (who cost me $3,000 for a repair that should have been covered by warranty) . I prefer to fix it myself. I took the door apart, but I cant see anything that is hanging up. Any ideads/ Thanks....

 

this sounds like the window regulator. i have mostly seen it with vehicles that have window tinting on them but it has happened on non tinted too. the widows roll up and down in a streight channel and the window moves side to side when it rolls up and down, this loads the regulator and it start getting stuck in spots right before it goes out completely.

Could it be an issue w/ the "Window Channel Assenbly"? Thats what AN General tech support say it was and I should replace the "Channel assembly". That doesn't make much sence to me after taking the door apart and looking at it. Looks to me like the assembly channel only holds the window across the bottom of the frame.

 

i would replace the window regulator. i have been working on these things for almost 20 years and have never changed the channels. who ever you talked to has never worked on a hummer before.
