I recently have noticed a rumble or maybe like a rubbing effect coming from the front end of my H3... Its hard to say where its coming from...Sometimes it sounds like the front driver side then others it sound like the passenger side... I only hear it at low speeds and I cant make it happen everytime but it seems to be more and more frequent....Ithought I onlyheard it when I turned the wheelbut today I was backing in my driveway and I heard it again.... Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated....

 

I dont know if it is the same thing as me, but I have a rubbing noise from my drivers side also. It sounds like styrofoam rubbing against something. Another member here told me, what it was. Underneath the drivers side (under the truck) is the emergency brake cable which rubs in its location. I have not had a chance to fix it yet, but I see exactly where it rubs. People have plastic tied it and also put a foam sleeve around it. Or just go to the stealership. The noise is so annoying. Read my past posts you can see pictures of this from another member. The rubbing styrofoam sound is the most likely the plastic molding that goes from the lower door-opening kick plate, radiused to the front of the door-opening. It is the bottom-to-lower-front plastic molding inside the drivers-side door opening. Mine makes that annoying sound and if I press my foot up against it the sound stops. I can't find any screws to tighten it down so chances are it is snapped in place. Mine does not seem to fit right. Anyone else have this problem?

 

I too have had this annoying noise.
It is the Emergency cable rubbing against body and theframe, just as it curves around the firewall. I simply tied the sucker up on the body mount... Noise gone!!!
