Default White headlight bulbs?

Hey got a question for yas ... can you get 5000k (pure white) color direct replacement bulbs? Or do you need those HID kits with the voltage box's?

I think the yellow bulbs kind of give a car an older faded light look ... just my 2c

Thanx guys

In a traditional bulb, I think the closest thing you are going to get is around a 4000k. I have Sylvania Silverstar bulbs and I love them. They are quite a bit whiter and brighter then stock ones.
Buy Sylvania SilverStar TWIN Halogen Headlight H13/9008 ST/2 at Advance Auto Parts
Do you have a Paypal account and an Advance Auto store locally? If so, use promo code "PAYPAL" and you will get $10 off making them $25.99 and you can pick them up in store.

Same here, I get a lot of comments asking what brand they are and how bright they are.

I've had good and bad experiences with their products. On my truck the silverstars work and look great after almost a year. On my motorcycle...not so much.

I put the SilverStar Ultra in my 09 Ninja 650r and after less than a year they both started to get dimmer and not as bright or white, and then one burnt out shortly after I noticed the decrease in performance. I'm sure the ultra's burn brighter and whiter, and thus, hotter so maybe that's why they didn't last as long.

Any halogen bulb is going to be about 3200K or slightly higher.
Some halogen bulbs come with a blueish tint to get them to looker cooler (higher kelvin)
but then they end up putting out less light because of the tint (less lumens)
The Silverstars Ultra are one of the best brands on the market and they can last 14+ months, if you're lucky

Hey guys Thanx for all the great info! Unfortunatly I don't live in the U.S I'm in Australia, and we don't have that store here.

I done a bit of reading and seen the bulbs with the blue tint and they claim they put out the 5000k color of light ... there only like $20 shipped to Australia so I might just buy em and check em out ...

Lots of good reviews on the starlights ... might grab a set of them too ...

Thanx again guys, great helP

FYI don't waste your time with the colored tinted bulbs, they suck, and put far less usable light than real HID's of the right color.

If you want that look go projectors in my opinion. Just my two cents.

I have Xenon projectors in my Benz ... and to be totally honest the light is terrible compared to this Hummer ...

Its not that im unhappy with the amount of light it has already, its just ... yellow

Ok so what I might do then is order a set of those Star lights that a few of the guys are raving about, and il see how they look

Thanx for your help

Chad
