Default where to mount your CB?

Before everyone gets all bent out of shape I did try several different searches and wasn't able to find what I was looking for. I want to know what kind of CB you have installed and where you installed it. I was able to find info on where people mounted their antennas but nothing on the actual CB itself.

the plan right now is to install an aftermarket cd player so I can get bluetooth and ipod control but it only takes up half of the double din slot so my plan is to install the CB into the other slot. Cobra is the only one I found that would fit and fill out the slot... But if there is a better place to mount it I am definitely open to ideas! Please post pictures of your install!

Oooo. Thanks for the pics! Must have been tough pulling the cable through. I am almost regretting the location I chose. The only reason I keep it so low is because the parking structure at my job only has 6.5 feet of clearance. With the leveling kit, I am about a half inch from losing my OnStar antenna. I also took the discarded antenna from my wife's Solstice since it was two inches shorter than the stock radio antenna on the H3.

Good news is, I still have a 5 foot Firestick II that I use when I am on trips so I don't loose too much signal.

Actually, the cable was easy. Ran it through the vent in the back door, drilled a small hole in the plastic near the hinges and ran it under the plastic all the way to the front. For the CB power I drilled a 1/4" hole in the firewall, put a grommet in it and ran the power and ground (pics available for those that need it). The only problem with the antenna mount is that the door itself was not well grounded to the truck so I ran a ground wire out with the antenna and grounded it under the rear door sill.

The quick disconnect for the antenna should have arrived UPS today at my home so that should be more convenient so my antenna (Firestik II, 4') is easily removable when not in use.

I bought one those all in models from Cobra and it picks up everything without the need for the ext. antenna. When I'm not on a trail I jsut take it out and that way it's not in the way.
