where to live??????
That's a fact, it does get hot down here in the summer but the rest of the year is quite mild. I guess if you're used to full blown winters you wouldn't like it.
I go to Chicago on business a lot, home office is there and I know that property taxes and housing and gas is quite expensive there. Not saying all of IL, just Chicago and the burbs around Ohare and west.
NC is really nice as is northern TN, especially eastern TN over by the Smokies, geeze it's beautiful there and I think the cost of living isn't too bad and yes they actually have winter there too but still it's not like a Michigan or NY winter, remember how far south it is... Not sure about taxation, schools, etc but I'd guess you can find decent places in either state plus they both have plenty of mountain so I know you can do some wheelin without driving too far.

HD.....thanks for the info...I don't care if I move somewhere that gets huge winters...just don't want to have to go up north on vacation so my kids can see snow, ya know?

gr8 lake to fish ... i have a 6lb smallie on my wall from there
i wish i knew u was goin there .. id of turn ya on to some spots
how did ya do ?
most of the turneys are won by two brothers form AL that fish by wilson dam
and weigh in all smallies....i have seen them w/ over 60lbs w/ 10 fish
wilson dam is about 60 miles up river from pickwick
I fished wilson dam for a bit, mostly because I was racing a guy in a bullet and that's where we ended up
.....had a field day hitting smallies on rattle-trapps. It wasn't a cut throat tourny, just a club I belonged to had a rally/tourny there...I think there was 45 boats. I came in 8th...not bad for a Yank
Those southern boys didn't realize that smallies are more common than large-mouths up here so we know how to catch em
This was about 8 years ago...haven't gone back yet, man that was some beautiful country though.
