Where to get HIDS
Good morning everyone!
I am looking to get some HIDS for my 04 H2 and I am stoked! The only problem I am having is finding a site that I can trust and get them.
I looked on ebay and will possibly buy some from there however most of them are the " little black boxes" which someone who owns a shop here in town told me to avoid due to lack of quality...I am not real sure if this is true or not...
Anyways if anyone could give me some suggestions on where to get a pair for a decent price that would be great!
Thanks in advanced.

Highly doubtful they are as bright as HID's.
I hope it's ok to post this link but this is where I buy all mine from:
www.ddmtuning.com
Be sure to buy the optional relay harness also!

I sell 7" LED headlights for Harley's and the are really bright. Twice the light of a normal halogen , they draw half the power of a regular headlight. No ballast or wiring needed. Plus they are American made and very durable. They are made by Trucklite and the Trucklite rep told me they have sent 400,000 LED headlights to the troops in Iraq and Afghanistan I have not put a set in a Hummer yet but I plan to.
I would avoid HIDs. I just ended taking mine off. I have 2 6000K H/L Xenon HID headlights and everytime they came on you would hear a "pzzt". And last weekend after turning them off and back on at a gate the engine went into a a reduced power mode. I think the poswer surge from the ballast messes with the computer. I pulled them off and replaced them with Xenon filled bulbs. Now no isses and they are brighter than stock. Just my opinion.
Were you running a relay harness? Each ballast needs to have a relay so the power is being drawn straight from the alternator and not through the stock headlight wiring.
Most cheaper kits are completely plug and play meaning all you do it plug them into the stock headlight wires. That leads to the HID's not lighting, flickers, making noise, etc. Relay harnesses solve all those problems 100%.
It's a bit more work to wire everything in but once it's said and done with will last the life of the vehicle.
I can post pics if you guys would like of my setup with the DDM kit. DDM is all I ever use in all my vehicles and friends vehicles.

Well this is the only pic I could get from my build thread. I popped the hood for more pics of the wiring but I hide my wiring so well there was nothing to take pics of lol.

DDM used to sell a slightly cheaper Raptor version of their HID's but they don't anymore. All they have is the slim ballast kits with the separate ignitor which I am not a huge fan of.
The ballast is obviously the large black box that says DDM, the ignitor is the smaller black box next to it.
The way you wire in a relay harness is the factory headlight wires act as a signal for the relay. So when you turn the lights on ALL the factory headlight wires does is sent a 12v signal to the relay to close it. This lets the larger wiring from the harness pull the power directly from the positive on the battery/alternator and sends it to the ballast.
Let me know if you guys have any other questions.
