Use your original rims and add 1 1/4" spacers! (this way you get exactly 4.5" backspace!)

I just did it and it looks and drives fine!

There is no difference to a wheel with different offset.

Spacers are commonly used as well on sports cars and as so you don't need to worry. There we talk about different forces....

Besides the original wheels are of high quality...

A brake caliper needs space...but I never heard that more space is better...it fits or not!

Spacers are around 200$ and will not kill you....try it and see yourself!
New rims (and then you need 5) are 1250$ + ....you don't want to go for cheap crap.

Muddy, what is the downside of spacers? Do they tend to come loose under heavy usage?

I'm sure Muddy can answer better than me but I was there on the trip at Rausch Creek when JRuss's wheel came flying off on the Highway on his way home!
Correct me if I'm wrong but from what I remember the cause was the spacers and he never found the wheel!

The spacer is fixed the same way as your wheels... do they come off?

Make sure you check that the original wheel studs do not obstruct the spacer... In such case I could understand that you will loose your wheel.
I had to cut the tip of my front wheel studs (3mm).

Tight your bolts always with a torque wrench! Not only too low torque is an issue.... too high torque can crack a wheel or spacer...

Use high quality spacers...billet...no cast...and you will be fine!
Use them as they are designed and made...do not further modify on the lathe machine!

Had spacers on all of my sports cars...used to drive them on the race track...and never had issues!

Maybe the guy who lost his wheel can explain more details?
Did only the wheel come off? ...or with the spacer?
I could bet that he did something wrong...as always...human error!

Asume you once have a roll over in your H3...

Will you blame Rancho for the 4" lift and lifting your center of gravity?

Spacers are illegal and will never pass an inspection. They are illegal for a reason.

Jimmy is right... spacers caused Jeremy's rear wheel to pass him at 65mph going down the freeway.... and his insurance didn't pick up that check.

Lifts are not illegal, spacers are. PERIOD.
