Can anyone please tell me what this RED wire is for:
It comes out of the main wiring harness near the fuse box.
When I got the car, The (wire end) was taped up next to the main wire harness, (Not connected to anything )
Its long enough to reach the + terminal on the battery.

Any ideas would be appreciated.

 

Have not looked at my H2 yet but looks maybe after market. Stereo or maybe off road lights that have been removed.

 

Car was bought new, It comes out of the Main wire loom, I have no aftermarket radio or lighting. Wire loom looks original condition, Very strange, I also thought it may have been for the DRL as the wire is a heavy gauge.

 

My guess would be the windshield washer fluid heater, the dealer prob cut it off for you.

 

Thanks you, yes it was just taped off,
In a Bold move I connected last to the + terminal and found nothing new,
I will look at the washer fluid later to see if its getting warm.

 

Ehh.. it was cut because it's a fire hazard, not my decision to make, but personally I'd leave it unhooked.

But it's your risk.

 

Hooking it up will not heat your ww fluid. If the dealer did the recal they removed some parts as well.
