What Upgrades?
I am 17 y/o with an '06 H3. Now before anybody starts riding my case, this isn't something my daddy bought me. I traded in my '03 Silverado (KBB listed my truck at $11,500, it only had 75k miles) for an H3 because I needed something with 4x4 that wasn't going to guzzle gas or be incredibly difficult to handle. The Hummer was listed at $12k, but they immediately dropped the price to match, claiming that they needed room for more cars on the lot, plus the A/C didn't work, so they offered to pay to have it fix. The dealership offered a 30 day warranty, so the day after I got it home I took it in for diagnostics only to find out that in addition to the A/C compressor being completely shot, the car was leaking power steering fluid and the oil pressure dropped anytime the car hit 3000 RPMs. So I hustled the dealership for another $3,500 and put $1,000 of my own money into a new engine and repairs for the leaky hoses and compressors. I'm now driving a smooth running beauty of an H3 with 150,800 on the chassis, but only 84,000 on the engine. My dilemma at this point has more to do with recreational performance and less to do with necessity. I live in a relatively rural area where social stature is based largely on your truck. While I love my H3 and wouldn't trade it for hardly anything, everything on it is stock and I'm interested in modding. I'll just ask people to post here with their own experiences with performance upgrades and how to save money while doing them.

Yeah, you'll find lots of info on this site. I started with the intake. I got the Air Doc because it's built great and has great reviews. It uses the existing air box and I think is less expensive than the others I saw.
That's a good place to start and installing it will help you to get to know your engine if you don't already.
Best of luck and congrats!
