What is this switch?
I just purchased a 2006 H2 Hummer. On the left side of dash, below control for rear windshield wiper is a two position small round switch. I can not find any reference for it in the Hummer manual. Can anyone tell me what it controls? It is about 1/2 inch in diameter. I believe it has one white dot on /or by thetop and two on the bottom. Appears to be factory installed item.
Also on the roof, front drivers side corner, is a polorized plug. Looks to be 12 volt outlet. Is this standard and what is it for?
Thanks in advance for any assistance.

Been awhile since I had my 2. I don't remember the plug in the roof that you are talking about but I had a 2003. I think the button you are talking about controls the interior lights, whether they come on or not when you open the door. Someone with a 2 will come along shortly and enlighten us.
My 03 is currently in the shop. When I get her back, I'll be more than glad to look it over. Keep in mind however, that some of us added mods. I myself have 2 extra switches that were installed. 1 is for switching from my normal hummer horn and my air horn, its a 3 position switch. Thenthey added another switch for my light bar on top. So if its not in the manual, and if you bought it used, it could be from an add-on that was removed when traded in. Obviously, they'll leave the switch or button there so there "will be not an empty hole thar.. Especially, if there is nothing mentioned in your manual..[&:]
Does your H2 have the air suspension rear? If so I believe this is the control. Check your Manual. If not, could be aftermarket Spotlights. I just installed some and used this position for the switch.
the switch is most likely for spotlights to be mounted on the roof, especially since you have the plug up there. you could take a voltmeter and see if you have any voltage on the roof, then flip the switch and check again. that would tell you if the switch is for that plug.
