I was reading through the forum postings looking to see what the smallest wheel that was able to fit our H2. I also was trying to find any picture or postings about which was the largest tire put on our H2.

The first question - what is the smallest wheel that will fit on our H2?
It seems that this is actually a question asked before and yet no one has really answered it. I was wondering if anyone had the answer or could help me (well and the people who asked before me) what the smallest wheel on the H2 can fit? I read someone on here put Hummer H1 wheels on their H2 and they said it was a 16.5 inch wheel. So I am wondering if we can go smaller? I also read someone asked about whether the H2 had Silverado hub/brake setup. So I am wondering if this is true too? Since, if it is, that will allow us to determine the smallest wheel based on what Silverado people are doing to their trucks.

The second question - what is the largest tire put on our H2?
That one was just for fun. I just would like to see what craziness has been done to our H2 in the way of tires. I have seen some pictures on the internet and they look tame, since I have heard some people have really gone REALLY BIG

Without a lift some have managed to put 37" tires on without any major rubbing but some that tried that had bad rubbing and had to go back down a size. Lifted - I've seen tires as large as 44" myself.

Smallest wheel - if you wanted to change the brakes I'm sure you could probably go as tiny as you want, just would not be able to stop very well anymore with smaller brakes. Are the H1 16.5" wheels even the same 8x165 lug pattern? I guess you could always get an adapter. Not much of a selection on the tires for the 16.5" wheels though. The military Goodyears and probably only one or two others made in that rim size.

 

MixMan, I appreciate your answer but what I was looking for was stock brake size stock everything... just what is the smallest diameter rim we can put on our H2. I have seen people put the H1 rims and tires on our H2 trucks and it looks good, while also the tires are very cheap to replace if you get them used.
The issue I am trying to find is, like the others that asked, what is the smallest rim we can put on our H2 (with stock brakes) because the tire selection is much greater in certain sizes. I want to go with big tires (like 38, 40, 42 inch, or maybe even the 44 inch you mentioned) but i dont want to have the big rims. i like the old 4x4 look, not the street cruiser look.

So I am wondering with all your vast knowledge, is the brake setup on our H2 cross match with any other GM vehicle. This way, lets say, if they match with a Yukon, or a Silverado, or whatever... I can look at those trucks and see what they have put on for rims, or maybe the tire rack or companies like that would know.

Or, maybe in your H2 books you seem to have, it tells use the diameter of the brake setup
