the market is way off right now... Zillow has mine way down... and the one 2 houses down for 430...

One of the guys that works for me just sold his 1000 Sf house in Laguna Beach, no ocean view, for $1,449,000.00. That is pretty sick.

That just seems so stupid to me. I've been there, and you would never convince me to pay that much for that!

 

It was a POS when he bought it. A shack with a bad floor plan. I had a few of our trades do some work for him and he put 50K in the kitchen and masterbath and that was it. ( and carpet ) It was terrible. He paid 750K about 4 years ago. He said it had gotten up to almost 1.7mm but the market slid on him a little.

We have another Realtor coming on Tuesday to look at our house. The last one wanted 7% commission, this one is willing to do 5% and she is the leading Realtor in the area. She was also a little more upbeat today on the phone then he was. Can't sell anything if you all depressed sounding.

Mother-in-law is even starting to sound like she might lend a hand in getting it for us if I get the structure inspected and found to be safe.
