Both vehicles average 14 mpg on the highway driving between 70-75 mph. 06' had a cracked radiator which is common for H3's. If you're getting it from a dealer check the front axle seals for any leaking, cheap & easy fix. Other than that don't let this site scare you on Hummers, they are fun and reliable vehicles.
haha this site does scare me from hummers but im picking it up monday.it has brand new tires but there just an stock size i want to put some wheels and 33s on it. how much is a raditator? im a diesel mechanic for a living so the labor would be free but im hoping it wont need a rad.its coming from a private seller.its for my wife so it will be babied and never see more then a trip to the farm no extreme off roading..thanks 4 all the info! what kind of miles are people getting out of the motors? most i see for sale are all less then 110k just wondering if any 1 is seeing big number out there? thanks again!

Same Atlas motors in Colorados/Canyons/Isuzu i series, there are plenty out there with over 200K miles.

The I5 is just a variant of the I4 and I6 Atlas, tons of miles logged on those.

I bought an 06 too last Jan. and had to have the shift fork replaced, but the dealership paid for it. I had to buy new tires too. All in all it's totally worth it. I love driving it.

One thing you also want to look for in case you buy one with a sunroof is water leakage, especially under the front drivers side carpet. This seems to be a problem as well as leakage on the front passengers side. There is a lot of useful info on this thread that I used to correct the problem. Just a thought
