I am buying a train table and train for my son's 2nd birthday and am confused on what to buy for his first set up. I would like to buy the deluxe roundhouse, sight n sound fire station, qaury tunnel. Is this too much for a first set? What other track accessories would be needed? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I would suggest a Brothel, Saloon & Bath House for starters. Oh, don't forget to educate your little one on what happens inside of those 3 places so they can get the full play-time experience!

I didn't even know we had a model train section, I'm really excited now!

On the Thomas table the round house takes up a lot of room. My kids enjoyed more track to push the train rather than big items that would take up room. Buy some of the smaller add ons like grain mill, water fill, etc. By far the Thomas stuff is the best built. Pricey but the best as far as track fitting and car hook up.
