I bought a used 06 h2 from a non gm dealerwith 39k i have about 42k on it now, all but 1 of the steering wheel lights are out. Will i have trouble trying to have warranty work done on the truck because i'm notthe original owner?

Your fine and shold have no problem. Its all based on the VIN#. Doesnt matter if your a second owner.

 

at the risk of thread jacking... would one need to take their hummer back to the original dealer for warranty work?

 

I have taken mine to another Hummer dealer, no problem.

 

2006 was the first year to get the 4 year/50,000 mile warranty. The lights on the steering wheel would be under warranty, and that can be performed by any HUMMER dealership, not just the purchasing store.

 

Thanks guys, i called the closest dealer, they took my word that they were blown and he ordered me all the buttons, i will drop the truck off tonight and pick up up tomorrow evening.

I thought 2007 model years began the 4yr-50K bumper to bumper and 5yr 100K drivetrain warranty.
2006 is probably a three year warranty.
