Warranty will be safe?
Hello everybody. I'm a newbie on Hummers and this forum. I'm right about to buy 2009 H3. Yeah, it's sooooooooooooo great. I'm so much impressed by this vehicle. I have got a final offer from one of dealerships in my area (I'm in Indiana.). I probably go to there to make a contract.
However, there is one thing which makes me hesitate to buy this vehicle. As you guys know, GM is not in a good condition and I have heard that GM is willing to sell or close Hummer. So, I'm pretty much worried about the warranty. Do you guys have any opinions? One thing makes me positive on it is that they launched H3T in this year( Is that thecorrect fact??). So I thinkGM will take care of Hummers.

If they sell hummer, it depends on if the sale included GM Hummer warranty on pretransfer sales, or if the new company takes on that libility. Either way, you will be able to get sevice.
Welcome.
Welcome.
Thats the 10 million dollar question and why I am hesitating to buy...
There was an article on the Hummer brand being dropped I read on Yahoo finance, I will try and find it.
What happens if GM does that?
I find it hard to believe a brand can just go away....they are usually purchased..

First, you have to ask yourself if you believe everything you read.... It must be true if it is on Yahoo? Right?
Really , it is for sale, not to simply be dropped. However, let us assume Hummer is dropped. Your GM Hummer would be serviced thru any GM dealer just like what was done when Oldsmobile was axed.
Non-issue IMHO.

Indeed! A new car warranty is a contract that GM is a party to. Unless GM goes belly up, you've got nothing to worry about. If they sell the brand, it's likely that either the buyer will assume the liability or a third party warranty will be provided to you by GM.
i remember that .. i hope that doesnt happened to hummer

Remember when Olds went away? Even when GM completely dissolved a brand, they still made parts, and followed through on the warranty. It wasn't cheap, though!
