Default Visor Universal Garage Door Opener

Hey gang! Just wondering if anyone out there has the factory visor garage door opener. If so, does it have a wire running into the headliner? Or is it stand alone in the visor with a battery. I was thinking of getting one but don't want to pay the outrageous price for dealer installation.

Thanks,

Slim

You can purchase the visor with the homelink for around $120 from the dealer. I did just that and wired it up myself. I purchased the wiring harness which plugs into the sun visor (ACDELCO Part # PT103 {2-WAY MALE BLACK #12085481}
CONNECTOR,LP-Sunshade Mirror W/LEADS, SQUARE) from Rock Auto.

Then you just plug it into the visor, remove the pannel on the side, there is one screw you take out, then the pannel with the tweeter is removed. There is a black and orange wire for power and ground.

That's it you're done.

Thanks for the info!

Greg, did your previous visor have the lighted mirror? I'm just wondering if the two orange and black wires will be in there. Also, did it come with two visors or just the one? I guess I'm going to have to due some exploratory surgery.

Can anyone tell me how to remove the panel to get to this plug? I took a qwik look, and do not see any screw, and am not too comfy just prying on the panel.

With this remote control kit you can easily add an additional garage door remote control or replace a missing or broken garage door opener without programming. Simply remove your existing garage door opener button and replace it with the Sky link Smart button.
