Vibration when in reverse
I’m looking at a 2006 H3 with 117k miles, single owner, all maintenance done at the dealership. When I put it in reverse it vibrates a little bit not a WHOLE lot. The dealer told me it was because the full time 4 wheel drive? I’m not familiar with these so I’m curious if that is normal?
Yeah! I know he’s full of it but I’m curious what it could be? Motor mount maybe? Everything seems fine with it and it was VERY well maintained the previous owner even had the battery changed at the dealership.
Motor mount, transmission mount, transmission itself, Transfer case mount, front or rear diff pinion, etc.
Run away! Especially since the dealer told you it was normal to make the sale. A half-good dealer would have at least said "we can have that looked at".

I bought my 2006 from a local dealer and anything that I thought needed attention was put on what I call a contingency list. I told the sales manager that I would buy the H3 when the items on my list were taken care of.I don't like to waste my time. My wife hates going car shopping with me because up front I have told numerous sales associates in the past that they have to sell cars, it's their job, it is what is expected from them but I don't have to buy from that particular car lot, and that if they haven't noticed, they aren't the only car lot around.
In fact, after talking with just the salesman about my H3 after the test drive, he let me know that my offer "probably would not be accepted". I handed him the keys and told him to have someone at that dealership call me when they were serious about selling it, preferably someone that wants to sell me a car. I didn't even wait for his reply, I just walked over to my car and left. The used car manager called me 2 days later. He thought what I said to the salesman was funny, of course the salesman wasn't amused. Hey, it's my money and if they want it to become theirs, they have to work for it..I definitely did!!!

They are a 3rd party independent selling source for GM or other brand vehicles. Independently owned and operated.
