I have a 09 H3 with 17,000 miles and I just started hearing a vibration from the right side when I hit 40mph. No vibration at any other speed. Recently changed the oil but the skid plates are not loose. Any ideas before I take back to the dealer. Thanks

 

nobody else seems to want to help out. so...

there shouldn't be anything about the oil change...

when you hit 40 and put it in neutral does the vibration go away. if it doesn't you can probably rule out the drive train.

having a vibration is hard to pin down sometimes.... a vibration at a certain speed is a classic symptom of an out-of-balance tire. can you see if you have thrown a weight?

you could check the rack mounts and see that they are ok. you could jack up the truck and do a quick physical check of your ball joints and wheel bearings.

post your question and do some searches on some other H3 forums. post up all the things you check and rule out so other people can help pin point the cause.

 

I checked everything you suggested then drove it without the skid plates and there was no vibration. I bolted them back up and put the piece of rubber that goes underneath the front plate around the bar that goes across and the vibration has not come back. I appreciate your suggestions, thanks.
