Default Very dumb tire question.

I'm wanting some 35's I was looking at the super swamper m-16 and the Mickey Thompson baja claw. The ss m-16 is 80 lbs and 35.2". The Mickey Thompsons are 62 lbs and 34.8". My dumb question is, that's a big weight difference. But the tires are .4" bigger. Will I notice that much of a weight difference and is .4" enough size difference to make me want the heavier tires.

I think it depends on the use of the tire, if your taking it out in the sand your going to want baja claw, mud/snow the super swampers. if it is for just the look and apperance your going to want the Mickey Thomspon's b/c of the ability to last longer on the road. super swampers are also softer composite than the mickey's so they will not last as long on the road. When I buy a tire I really don't pay too much attention to the weight b/c i think it wouldn't make to much difference in the long run, however I just bought Nitto Mud Grapplers 35 x 12.5 and they're sick!!! I would go with the mickey's though!

And the only time they will see off road is when I cut the corner on the driveway too short. So it's completely for looks cause 35's on h3's look kick ***.

yeah, they are loud but that only makes it meaner. I wanna be heard when rollin through, its all about what ya want. But if its for road I wouldn't go with any super swamper. they wont last. go with mickey's, toyo, or nitto.

If you are driving mostly street, I would NOT recommend the Mickey Thompson Baja Claws. They wear very quickly, you'll burn thruogh them quicker than a rastafarian on a dime bag. Read customer reviews out there on numerous sites. The claws are also directional, limiting your tire rotation options.

Go with the Mickey Thompsom MTZs. Excellent ratings, siped for wet street traction, and a great all around tire and they look way cool. Check the reviews.

How bout a pic? Mine are the 305s (33", same tread width as the 35s), go check out Mutaint's album, he has 35s and they looked so cool (we wheel together) that I ended up with MTZs as well.

I really have nothing useful to add to this thread, but Doc, your analogy cracked me up. Good one!

Default Very dumb tire question

price - 165ish or lessuse - just wet traction, tread life, and some dry traction.I just want something that wont slip traction like my summer tire when it starts to rain out here. does that help at all????

The movie is already out in the UK and the Japanese version was region free so this should be the same.
