Valeo Sylvania Xesighting XE7 projector headlight housings
Hello everyone,
I have the Valeo Sylvania Xesighting XE7 projector headlights on my rig. Two years after they were installed the outer chrome rings that go around the projectors started pitting. I would imagine from the salt they use on the roads in the winters here in the Midwest.
Since the Xesighting portion of Valeo Sylvania is no longer around these are almost impossible to find. What's the best way to resurface these outer chrome rings? I think I'd much rather paint these instead of chrome plating them again. Where do I start though?
This is what they look like:

I'm not sure if the projector comes apart from that chrome housing but you'd have to sand down the chrome to get to the plastic or metal underneath then rattle can whatever color you want.
I typically use Dupli Color Engine Enamel for things exposed to the elements and have had great luck with it. It comes it many colors and finishes. I just redid all my plasti dipped wheels with engine enamel in low gloss black and it's holding up great.
If the bezels are metal you could possibly have them powdercoated for even better resistance to the elements.
