Upgraded to Fox: Rancho sucks!
So I bought some Rancho RS9000XL adjustable shocks back in late November of last year. The fronts are completely shot. They don't extend at all. I'm guessing the rears are done too. I'm waiting on shocks before I bother to confirm if they are.
The H3 hasn't seen any offroading (and most likely wont). There is a rouch stretch of road with some bad dips & I did feel the vehicle bottom out twice. That's pretty sad, considering it's a road & I wasn't going over the speed limit.
Rancho will be getting a call on Monday & I'll see what they will do for me. I'd love a refund, but highly doubt I can get one, even from Amazon. I might try to talk to them & explain the situation. Considering I'd get new, unopened shocks they can sell, they just might go for it. That's about $375 bucks in shocks! What a joke. If not, I guess they go up on ebay as new.
Here's a comparison of the fox shocks vs the Ranchos:

If you can see, the rancho doesn'tt extend. The overall build quality of the fox is much, much better.
If you're going to spend $90 on the Ranchos, spend another $25 each & get the Fox shocks instead. I doubt these will blow out as quickly.

I've had Rancho RD9000XLs on my H3 for over two years now with absolutely no issues whatsoever. The ride quality is excellent and being able to adjust the firmness of the shocks is a great feature. I have no doubt the Fox shocks are probably better quality, especially for more serious off-roading, but my experience with the Ranchos has been very positive so far.

In my eyes, if the shock isn't a King, Fox or Icon (not in any order), I won't even order it at this point. I've been through a lot of shocks for someone who had vehicles that aren't taken off road, I can say everything's garbage has blow out in less than a year. That goes Bilstein & now Rancho.
I will say this. I have a Rancho steering stabilizer in my H2. I'm not going to say everything they make is junk. I'm very happy with it & it works like the GM version does, but is easier to install/remove. It replaced a POS Bilstein "stabilizer" that would constantly steer me to the right.

I haven't called Rancho as I wanted to remove the rears to see if they went too. They did not. I replaced w/ the Fox 2.0s & the ride quality changed for the better. It's far less harsh.
I'll probably end up selling my rear Ranchos once I verify that I'm keeping the Foxes. I won't have time to deal w/ Rancho until Friday, so I'll see what they'll do for me concerning the fronts. It's very disappointing.
