there is nothing that can or will be done about the speed, the way that i see it. I can tell the tech guys "the members say that the site is running slow", and they will run a bunch of tests that say that its running perfectly fine...and then they will ask me where the problem is occurring, and Im not seeing any difference in the load speed here, compared to any other sites from forums to yahoo...or competing sites, (elcova)...

when i got from this section, and click on the main forums, its taking somewhere in the area of 3-4 seconds for everything to load...the problem with "site speed" is that there is too much variance from one computer to the next. im running vista on a new computer, and im not having any problems at all...and thats what they will tell me...

Patrick this is the slowest forum I go on by far. ( GMHummer, CHO, H1Psychosquad, HXC, Humvee.net, etc) all operate at lightspeed compared to this forum. I access the forums from 4 different computers and the results are the same from all four. I don't know what the glitch is but your tech guys need to be upgraded if they can't do something about it. Wish I was more tech oriented so I could offer better help/input but from experience that doesn't sound right.

the only time i notice it being slow, is when i come to the front page, on my laptop, using the aircard...i wish that there was some real, quantifiable means of measuring a sites speed, but there isnt one, that i know of. I do let the tech guys know when there are complaints about site speed, but since i cant say "its doing this..when it should be doing this" (like before when people couldnt post, or have pictures), but with the speed, there is no measurement that i can show them, to show what the members mean...

take DF for instance. when we first got VB there, people complained about the speed. the company did something, and many of those people said "its much better now". we still have some people who complain, but we have many more who dont have issues...

i will talk to them about this site on monday...maybe there is something that they can do...

FYI...I spoke the the tech guys about the site speed, and they are going to see if there are any problems on their end.

When you have the speed issues, where is it hanging up on your end? It seems that from time to time, this site hangs once the header loads, then the rest sort of bursts open, but thats only once in a while.

ok...when it hangs, what is not loading? does nothing load for 10 seconds, and then everything pops up? or does half load, then a pause, etc?

I haven't seen any speed issues from work or at home. Everything loads up lightning fast. I only have a basic 6 Mb connection at home but I have a 24 Mb connection at work, both work equally fast.

Just a FYI.
