Default Updating info in Nav unit?

I've got a 2006 H3, with the Nav unit. Have found on a couple occasions, (don't use it very often as we don't go far, lol) where trying to find a location, it does not recognize streets, etc. Have to go in a roundabout way, then set a destination point once we reached our spot, and it will backtrack a route from that. Was wondering if there is any other source to update the navigation software besides the dealer? I called and it's a VERY steep price- he wanted $411 for the DVD! I'm not THAT interested, but thought I'd check around here to see what anybody on this board can tell me. Thanks in advance!

Wow! $400!? And I was complaining about paying $100 for my Garmin update. Have you tried Ebay or Craigslist?

GM Nav Disc Center - Disc Search

GM sells them for 200 still outrageous for what you really need which is just the delta map updates.

Default RE: update info needed..

See, I wasn't sure what I needed, so I don't know what to type in on an EBay search. EBay had what looked like the original dvd's, but I am looking for an update and I don't want to buy something that won't work. Sure am not going to pay $400! I will put up with finding the closest thing and working my way to it, LOL.
Thanks for the link, Pauldy, Still think $200 is a bit much! I might consider $100, but right now, I can wait. I might do a search on that part number to see if is really is an upgrade and if it will fit my 2006 model.

Default EBay price

Thanks, Airborne227- I think I'm not in that big of a need right now, though!
I guess I'll just check back off and on to Ebay and keep watching. Kind of fun talking back to the Nav unit anyway!

Dealers get them from ebay - even they try to avoid GM's crazy expensive nav disc BS.

Just another reason to use your smartphone with Google maps...always up to date, AND you can pre-download areas to continue use even when you have no cell signal (GPS will still work). Never have been impressed with car manufacturer's navigation systems.
