Default Update on Nick/ZYNE

I just thought I'd give you guys an update on Nick since both of us haven't been on lately.

Nick is not doing too well with his back. He's taken a couple of falls as of late and because of his past back problems will most-likely be getting back surgery done very soon.

He has to get a procedure done called "Posterior Lumbar Fusion" where to my understanding they are going to have to fuse some of his vertibre. He's been in alot of pain lately and is going to have some intense recovery ahead of him once the procedure is done.

He's been struggling with this for the past10 yearsor so and it's getting worse. He's lost alot of his mobility and has numbness to parts of his right/left thigh/leg (I forgot what side). Anyway, he's in for a tough road and it will take him a minimum of 1 to 2 years after this surgery to get back to a semi-normal life again.

This being said, he probably won't be online for a long time and not able to partake in any off-road ventures of ours for a long while. His only convenient means of communication right now is really his Blackberry and text messaging.

Anyway, just thought for those who were curious that you'd like to know what happened to him. He should pull through all of this fine, but he has a painful process and recovery ahead of him for the next few weeks, months and even 2 years. Falling down the stairs twice in the past month hasn't helped him either.

Let's hope for the best!

He'll find out this morning actually what is going to happen.

Zyne....I don't remember him? I remember some arrogant illegal immigrant that jumped out of planes and thought he was Jamacian with his rasta-man hairdo...is that the same guy?

Tell him I hope he feels better....I miss that douche

we need to sign him up for a "pudding of the month club". tell him to get a haircut too, that will take some of the stress off his back and neck . . . . and let him know we're not going to change - we wish him well but won't let that get in the way of giving him crap if/when he does come back . . . .

he just txt'd me. We are like those kids on the cell commercials. It's pretty pathetic. At least we can type out full sentences lol.

He's at the surgeon's office right now. He should know soon what's going on. He told me if/when this is done, he'll be out of work a minimum of 6 to 8 weeks. Maybe he'll actually be on here some now

He said they are going to try an epidural first and that one of his disks is ruptured (again).

They are going to see if they can get around surgery, but he did that before and it only lasted a month or so, if that.

I had to do the steroid epidural and was lucky it worked. My next step was surgery. That was 10 years ago and no issues since. I had years of back issues before that. I hope the set of epidural injections takes care of the issue.

On the bright side ... he's totally in love with his new addition, Ammi. And she definitely has eyes for him.
