Hi, I need advice on the tow bar for the H3. Does the tow ball size differ from the English version. Is there any other problems that I need to know. The towing electric plug looks different to the UK ones, but I can easily change this. I will be getting the car in a couple of weeks and need to get it ready for towing. All it needs is the "slide in" part of the tow bar with the ball, that locks with a pin. Any suggestions on where to source this part in the UK would help.

 

what is the standard size of towing hitches where you live? then use an online metric to standard conversion calculator to figure it out, then i'm sure online there is a place you can get one.

 

The real issue is what you're planning on towing it with. If you are planning on dragging it behind a vehicle under 3,500kg GVW, then you will be breaking the law as the maximum width to tow behind a vehicle less than 3,500kg is 2.3 metres so you can, and should, be stopped by the police every time you go out. If you use a vehicle over 3,500 kg then you are fine - the maximum width then is 2.55m.

 

Hi again, here in the UK, the standard size of tow ball in 1.96 inches, just wondering what the US standard size is. I plan on using the H3 to tow a twin axle caravan of just over 4000lbs. After an quick search on the net, I am unable to find any for the H3.
