Don't get a Plasma...

But I'd go with Hitachi.

the new plasmas are alot better than the original ones. I have 3 36" lcd and a 65" projection Panasonic and love em. I have had a few breakages and Panasonic sent a tech and they fixed them in my house every time with no problem. The last time it broke cause my son got pissed at elmo and hit the screen with his wiffle ball bat ....don't ask[:@] Anyway the guy came to the house, laughed when I told him the story and wrote the repair as a defective screen.....no cost to me at all. I will always buy panasonic now.

Don't know if you bought the extended warrenty yet but if not, Panasonic gives all tv's a one year warrenty, but you can call and extend the warrenty at any time. I called and extended it with one month left on the one year and got it extended for less than the store wanted when I bought it.

I got an LCD. I think that's what it's called. The guy at Best Buy recommended that over a plasma because he told me that you can repain a LCD but not a plasma. I don't know if that's true or not but.

Got a 61" Samsung DLP (1080P) and been entirely too pleased with it. Won't buy anything but Samsung!
