Default TRinity DiabloSport for the H2 HELP PLEASE!!!

I have a 2003 Hummer H2, I wanted to wake it up a bit so I installed a Trinity Diablo Sport, I down loaded the pre installed tune, the 87 octane gas tune, until I waste all the gas in my tank and fill it back up with 93 octane gas, then I will download the better Diablo tune, all I input into the diablo is my tire size, I have a cold air intake and 50 series Flow master exhaust on my rig...

With what I have done so far as per the 87 octane download, will I notice more speed? I can not really tell?

When I do the 93 octane down load...shall I see a better improvement?

Someone told me to cut out the 50 series muffler and put 40 or 44 series to get more power and speed.

Does anyone have this tuner installed? Can anyone give me advise as to if I am doing it right?

you haven't noticed any difference with what you installed so far? usually I think the basic type of tunes adjust shift points, torque curve, air fuel mix, timing but only so much on stock engine and a bit less on 87 octane at least in the timing, the difference might not be mind blowing but should be noticeable

The cold air intake, and 50 series exhaust sounds cool, probably sounds better than any speed gains...

I just put the tune back to stock and filled the tank with 93 octane, then installed the Diablo tune for 93 octane, and the only mod I knew how to install outside of the diablo tune was to put in the correct tire size and height and such.... It allows me to manually play with shift points, and torque curves and other stuff but I don't know how to do so... SO I just did the tire and rim mod, other wise it now runs on the 93 octane Diablo tune.

What I do notice is It revs higher.... and sounds a bit louder from the exhaust....

Is it really worth the investment to get a speed shop to dyno the Hummer and do a expert Modification tune? Is it worth spending the money for a pro to do the install????

Or with what I have so far just run 93 gas and the Diablo tune.

I know its not a vet and its a hummer....

A properly done dyno tune will by far outperform any out of the box tune hands down. Every engine is different, every engine will put out slightly different amounts of power given the different variables of that specific engine.

There is no way a box tune will outperform a real dyno tune. Box tunes in my opinion are a complete waste of money.

This is 100% true
Usually a box tune is for those that dont want to do much, get a car with mods running, or the owner wants to be able to go back to stock.

Lets put it this way
I had a box tune from Lingenfelter for my Maggie'd Vette. It was enough to get the car running and able to drive. But the HP was probably 300 rwhp where when properly dyno tuned... it was 600 rwhp

Big difference from the pre-programmed stuff

Yeah dyno tunes really wring out every extra power and uses the tune to the max effect. In reality it is safer for the engine as well. This is all assuming your tuner is a well respected and knowledgeable guy.
