I just came home to a late christmas present from the wife (that i make a monthly mayment on lol), a super clean 2005 H2 SUT, everything runs great and works except the Transmission Temp Guage. It just sits at the bottom, never getting warm.

anyone have any ideas on what the issue could be? Loose wire? bad guage? ect... this is my first GM vehicle as well so I am a bit at a loss.

My first guess is bad sender or there was previous work done to transmission and they may have not plugged it back in. I would slide under and make sure you have no loose wires underneath truck near transmission. If they are all connected it would seem as sender is bad
