Monitoring Transmission Temp
Has anyone done anything to monitor the trans temp. I was thinking about the ScanGuage II. Wheeling today at 98 degrees got me wondering how hot she was getting.

I have a ScanGauge II and today it was 85 outside; air intake temp 175; water temp 193 and transmission temp 212.
Are you sure you want to know? These engines/transmissions run HOT!
I do believe that GM does NOT recommend synthetic ATF.
My H3 has 123K miles so I guess it's OK.

Beats me... that is what I understood from another forum from F5fstop. He indicated that was involved w/Hummer at GM.
Too bad because I have always run synthetic everything in my vehicles. I'll be checking with my tribologist for his advice.
It seems that a hot transmission is perfect for syn ATF. But what do I know???
