So If I want to install a transmission oil cooler on my h3 and bypass the one thats in the stock radiator. What do I need exactly to plug the stock cooler?

 

?,,,tranny is made to run hot best. if cold in winter it will never heat up without rad heat.
you need tubing to plug into tranny to plug it.
good luck. defeating the mfg design uaually leads to new troubles.

 

I guess you dont realize that if the transmission cooler inside the radiator bust, that this will lead to transmission failure. Many people have done this mod. I just wanted to know what I need to plug the stock cooler. a 6an plug is all?

I wouldn't think that you would need to plug the rad trans cooler lines unless your rad has an internal leak to the trans lines

 

i guess the reason i would want to plug is so that dirty and such doesnt get up in there , in case I ever need to hook back up to the stock cooler by chance. I just figured those that did the bypass mod plugged the stock cooler.

 

get some foamie earplugs and wedge them in there. Or get a properly sized rubber cap like brake bleeder lines get. But, don't unscrew those fittings on the radiator tank!

They are in there with lock title and you may break the lower tank and if not, it will probably cause a coolant leak!

 

Why would it leak if thats where the lines to the transmission cooler? it would just be plugged back up with the threaded bolt.
