Default TRANSFER CASE problems 2007 H3 please help

I love my H3 but since I got it is have had some serious problems. When I got the truck 8 months ago after hearing some strange noises I took it into my local GMC dealer to diagnose the problem. They showed me that the transfer case had become detached from the drive line and was leaking fluid causing parts of the drive line to need repairs. I gave the OK and spend about 3500 on these repairs and new parts. Fast forward to the present, I began to here an awful grinding noise while driving home from a trip that was so bad that once I got of the freeway I got the car towed to the same gm dealership. They now claim there is another problem with the transfer case and that this time a shift fork in the transfer case has come loose causing damage and that the whole thing case needs to be replaced totalling 2300 dollars. When I asked if I had a repair Warranty they claimed I would not because it is a different issue and that they put the original transfer case that was leaking fluid back in so there is no warranty. The mechanic even said that he would have recommended replacing the transfer case 8 months ago the first time but nonetheless they did not. Does the dealer hold any fault in this? It seems very shady to me and I'm annoyed to have two extremely expensive repairs within a year of the purchase date. Should I fight the dealer or just try to look elsewhere? Does anyone have experience with this type of scenario?

hard to foresee the future, but if the transfer case was working prior, then why replace then. Sounds like case just failed. Similar happened to me, front pump seal leaking, replaced seal, 4 months later trans failed. Related, probably a little as now the trans could build proper pressure, but no way of foreseeing failure. If we could see the future, we would be replacing lots of good parts working right now.

Welcome to HF.

MOVED from the new member section because tech questions are not supposed to be posted there.

First we have to find out what you paid for on the original $3500 repair.
That should have included either a transmission or a Tcase for that much money.
If they had to go inside of the Tcase to repair an input shaft it IS the dealers issue. In order to replace that shaft they would have to remove the chain, all the Gears, bearings and seals on that shaft.
