Hi, I have an 2005 h2 and I haven't been able to switch into 4 low or 4 high. Every time I try to switch I get the service 4wd. Everything seems to work I hear the actuator click but it does not switch. I took it to a place and they said the transfer case is bad. Has anyone replaced or rebuilt a transfer case. If so what did you pay for it to get done.

 

I would be skeptical if is the transfer case until the encoder motor or transfer case shift control module has been completely ruled out. It is more times the encoder motor, than it is anything else. Even thought it "clicks" it still might not be rotating the gear selector completely within the transfer case and hence sending the failure code to the PCM/BCM.
