Default tranny slow shift and slip

I have a 2005 H2 I have noticed every once in a while it would shift kind of slow but it was just every once in a long time. Well yesterday it did it a few times and then stopped and was fine. BTW it is 2nd to 3rd and 3rd to 4th. Well I jump on the hwy and noticed it shifted slow again and then slow to shift to 4th. Then I notice it was slipping so I pulled over and why I don't know but go to take back off and 1 and 2 are fine but 3 and 4 slipped again. So I jump off the hwy and drive back home is 2nd. First thing I do is get on the net and start reading.

Trans fluid still red but has a slight burnt smell not really bad.
1 and 2 are perfect and if you are not on the throttle much is shifts ok to 3 and 4.

I have read so many different things.

1. rebuild the trans $2500
2. Change filter and fluid it should fix it $55
3. Have the trans flushed $125
4. Shift solenoids Ebay $40
5 Buy 3-4 clutch plates and have local guy put them in $650
6. Rebuilt trans off ebay and install myself $1200

Don't want to waste money on 2,3, or 4 if there is not much of a chance of this fixing it.

if you didn't own it for it's previous life there is a good chance that you are going to just rebuild it to have peace of mind down the road....

if it was hammered on or hauled heavy you might chase issues until you end up rebuilding it.

no matter what I would either change the fluid to see if there was any change...

I have owned it the last 50k miles and I tow with it but just jet skis and a light boat nothing that it wouldn't easily handle. I will get stuff to change fluid today. I was just wondering if the shift solenoids could be the problem and have to dump the fluid again to try them

Change the Fluid, and change the Filter............

then see how it reacts..........

Coral Hummer wont change the filter, just back-flush the trans, for 150.00, with out changing the filter, its like 1/2 the oil change...........

i took mine to speedie transmission where they did the whole job for 125.00, Filter included...and removed the brush gaurds to do it right...(underneith)
