I have always thought the H3 needed another gear between 3rd and 4th to keep it from gear chasing on the highway and now I know why. 4th is an OD....I never knew that. I know, it's probably in my owners manual but I found it here first.

Nice to know. I think an extra gear would help....along with an extra 50 hp. [sm=icon_rock.gif] I know...alpha right?

 

Makes sense now. When I'm on the freeway with a full load of camping gear, I usually keep the transmission in 3rd to keep from downshifting so much. On long flats I will kick it backto drive.

 

You mean something like this?

First: 3.75

Second: 2.26

Third: 1.37

Fourth: 1

Fith: 0.73

Reverse: 3.67

Might be able to order the other Tranny a drink. [:'(][:'(][:'(] Manual is a tranny too.

 

OK I give up..... The Aisin, AR-5 manual tranny (The same one found in Pontiac Solstice) http://media.gm.com/us/powertrain/en...n_AR-5_MA5.dochas a much better spread than the juice box tranny. But...My wife can't / won't drive a stick so I have to have the auto. In any regard, it needs a gear spread like the manual.
