On my 06 Adventure with rear locker, I get the "Traction Failed/Serv Stab Sys" sometimes. It only came on when going down steep hills in 4 low. It does not seem to come on if I am under power, only when coming down at idle. It will go away if I turn off the ignition and then restart. My 4 low did go out of my transfer case and I had to have the transfer case replaced. I have not been back into the mountains since to see it this was where my problem was.

Default traction failed

flyfish;266639]Thanks for the replies. I have checked all my connections at the TCCM and cleaned them up on the T-case/actuator, but it didn't fix the problem.

As for the accelerator, from what I have read people usually get other DIC messages with the "traction failed" (i.e. "reduced power", "abs failed", etc) when that is the cause. I guess I shouldn't rule it out, though.

Appreciate the suggestions. Any other ideas? I hate paying over $100 for a diagnosis, but it looks like that is my only option.[/quote]

I am having the same exact problem on almost all starts ups . Once in a blue moon my 4x4 will light up ? any help or info ? thanks JIm

I believe when I unplugged my TCCM the 4x4 lights went out and the service/traction failed message came on. Have you checked the connections to the TCCM?

In case anybody is still interested, bought a new TCCM online for around $280 and had it installed in 10 minutes. 4x4 control is working as it should.
