I was driving today in my 06 h3 that I've had since Thursday. Everything has been great but tonight I noticed it said "traction control off" and the icon was lit up. I hit the button and the message went away. This happened again on my way home. Why would this happen? I had gone through some construction and the road was a bit rough but I've driven there before without that happening..... Any ideas? It said "off" not "failed" and it drove perfect the whole time. I have a 30 day warranty so I want to figure this out while someone else is paying! Thanks a lot.

 

Just went out again and it happened... it actually said "STAB SYSTEM OFF" sorry. I couldn't figure out how to edit my post!

 

One of the most common causes is a bad Transfer Case Actuator, but there can be many possible reasons for your problem.

Take it back and have the seller who is providing the 30 day warranty check it out.

 

I got that message when I disconnected my MAF and started it up.

After a few miles, I figured it wasn't going away on it's own. I stopped turned it off, set the key to on used my computer to reset the codes, plugged in the MAF, and started her up again.

All has been ok, no more "STAB SYSTEM OFF".

 

Thanks for the info. I brought it back and they said it was a bad body computer. Replaced it and we are good now!!
