Default TPMS..(tire pressure)..HELP....Throwing engine light on

My H3 has brand new tires on it, which are the origanal tires...all the air pressure in the tires are the same....but it has a spare on the back that is flat.....

So its sending it in saying i have a low tire and Service the TPMS ....

But then yesterday the engine light came on.....Advance said it was saying check the TPMS system...

WILL THE TPMS CAUSE THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT TO COME ON IF THE TIRE PRESSURE SENSOR LIGHT HAS BEEN ON FOR AWHILE ????

TPMS system does not read the spare. There is a procedure in your manual to reset the TPMS. I would try that first. I do not think any of that would cause your CEL light to come on

'06's and early '07's did have a sensor in the spare, however the TPMS system only reads 4 tires at a time.

Yea he's right, my H3 tire pressure sensors can read the spare tire. It even says it in my manual.

Spare tire TPMS school. Nope, the spare is NOT monitored. The TPMS in the 3s monitor only 4 tires at a time max, and are Not positional. The spare has a sensor, but the truck system can only monitor 4, not 5.

The only way the spare gets in the loop is if you rotate it in and reset all the tire sensors on the ground, that way the new spare that was on the ground before the rotation is then out of the loop. If you bought your 3 used, somebody before you may have programmed the spare in and never reset the tires on the ground.

This has been covered many times. Don't believe me, go out and let 20psi out of your spare to see what happens.... nothin.

If you want your TPMS warning to go away, put exactly 38psi (up to 40) cold, in all four tires on the ground.

That's actually NOT what I was saying. What I was trying to point out is that even if your spare has a sensor installed, it does not mean it's monitored. The system monitors 4 tires exactly. No more, no less.
