Towing capacity is approximately 8,000#s. Never seen a Hummer tow truck. !0,300# GVWR Not sure a Hummer is the best vehicle for this application.

Other than the coolness/novelty of it, the H1 is probably a bad choice for that application. The tow capacity of an H1 (8000#) is similar to an older 1/2 ton pickup -- there are a lot of trucks better suited for this application. A diesel 1-ton pickup would tow much more than an H1 as a car-hauler, and be much cheaper to maintain.

get the best of both worlds.... get a nice 1 ton and put a H1 body kit on it...

then you get style and function...

So if KoBoss installed a fifth wheel in his I'm assuming he Probably has the SUT version? I have a wagon and I just bought some horses. I was thinking about a bumper pull RV for the EXTRA LARGE "Bug Out Bag" of life, but now that I have horses, at least a 2-horse slant-back with tack room and preferably a small living quarters with bathroom would be ideal. I know I should just get a truck with a fifth wheel, but I want to take my Hummer where mad max can't go. What to do? At least now I know my wheels are light since they are the Aluminum hutchinsons, however, with a full size roof rack and big brush guards, etc, we are constantly adding more weight. My horses each weigh about 1200, so that is quite limiting.

I saw one Alpha with a 5th wheel hitch in the back. It was an open top. I pulled an H1 on a trailer up and down the mountains between SoCal and Moab with my Alpha. Probably 9000 pounds. It was a bumper pull trailer. Not sure I would want to try it with. 6.5 TD.
