Default Towing with an H1

Ive seen guys pulling car trailers and offroad rigs, whats the biggest ya'll have pulled?

My thoughts with a duramax conversion and the right suspension setup why wouldnt you be able to pull whatever you wanted.

I have a dually i tow with now and im looking to downsize some of my toys and get an H1. Only reason for me to keep the Dually is to pull my boat, if i can get the h1 to do it there would be no reason to keep it.

It is not what you think it could pull but what it is legally allowed to pull.
I f you are pulling 12k lbs and it is rated for 8k lbs for example and you cause an accident......................... Say bye bye to everything you own for the rest of your life

sorry to bust your bubble but you are way out in left field.

LEGAL comes down to GVWR, tow "rating" is a manufacturer safety rating. I drive a 10k lb dually with a GVWR of 12k pulling a trailer registered at 14k. Legally im at 26,000 lbs. beyond that you need a diff license. on a side note you can change the GVWR at DMV whenever you want. just costs you more.

So again i ask the same question. What heavy pulling has anyone done? Yes i assume upgraded braking, upgraded steering, upgraded suspension and power.

And if properly setup whatever your towing should be able to stop the tow vehicle on its own in an emergency. All of my stuff does!

I have towed several different H1s to Moab from California with my Alpha. With my non-Alpha Hummers the most I have towed is a fully loaded M101 trailer.

Hate to differ, but if you tow and get into a serious accident. The tow rating of the vehicle will be looked up and this will factor in your liability. You can get away with a lot, but when the piper calls with your song, can you pay him.......? That is why tractor trailers are cited for having overweight trailers.
