Tow Hitch question..
That makes sense. They market the manual H3 as having a smooth-shifting clutch, mainly because even if you pop the clutch, it still seems to smooth itself out. It probably would produce too much heat with the amount of slippage and friction produced when shifting. In theory, if I bought a heavy-duty clutch perhaps I could tow more. I still think towing 4500 lbs plus pulling you own 4800 lb vehicle, plus bodies, is pretty amazing for a I5 engine.
I agree with the towing out of the I5 is pretty nice. I just think the initial posters friends land rover plus the weight of a car trailor would be well over the limit. Just trying to save this guy from possible trans problems in the future.
