Duratracs are a bit noisier than a less aggressive tire. I just replaced a set of Duratracs at 95K miles - with another set of Duratracs. They got noisier the last 10K miles but the GY dealer claimed that it was due to cupping since my shocks were getting worn.

 

With a highway tire you hear a quiet "whirrrr" as the tire rides over pavement, with the Duratracs it sounds a little deeper like "hummm". It's never loud or obnoxious unless your tires are getting old and worn. When new, I could just hear them at 50-55 with the window down over the wind and almost nothing with the windows closed.
