I found a set of (4) 285/75/16 Mickey Thompson ATZ's for $995 shipped. Does that sound like a good price guys and/or where are you guys buying your shoes from?

That doesn't sound too bad... They are online most places for $220-$285.

Make sure you see what type you are getting... there are different types of ATZ's.

4wheelparts.com has them from $246-$274 and only $49.95 for shipping.

Make sure you compare....

I can't find anyone who has the MTZ's in 285/75/16 with blackside walls.. They're all "white outlined letter."

Is this a size thing? Are the MTZ's not made black sidewall in 285/75/16?

I am looking at the "traditional" size type. I see the radial plus but not too sure what the difference is.

Mickey Thompson Baja Radial ATZ Tires

I'll be honest, the more I look at these tires, I am really liking the Dick Cepek Mud Country tires. I think I might go with them but concerned with how long they will last vs the ATZ.

I need to buy some asap since my inspection is due in August and I'm down to the wear bars on my current tires. Plus, I'll get a better deal right now during the summer months (or I assume).

Most people have them mounted inside out with the white lettering in.
After a while the white lettering gets really dirty and just about disappears.
Mine (Duratrac's) have been on for about a year and the white is gone.

If you want to get rid of the white immediately, go over the white with a black permanent marker.

Just have them mounted inside out (white letters in). Most tire shops will have the black "stain" to cover the white letters.

ATZs (Mickey Thompson part# 5363 LT285/75R16) come in the standard which have 4 rows of tread and the ATZ Plus (Mickey Thompson part# 5163 LT285/75R16) which has 5 rows of tread. 4 rows are "true" ATs and the 5 rows are like a passenger car tire. Make sure you order the 4 row. I'm thinking that you priced the ATZ Plus not the ATZ. haven't seen nor heard of the ATZs (Mickey Thompson part# 5363 LT285/75R16) going for under $270ea in a 285/75R16.

Hope this helps fellas!

They look to be about as agressive as the stock Adventure Dunlops. I'm not a fan of the sidewall look either. Looks like a passenger car tire. Just my opinion.
