temp gauge alternative

Default temp gauge alternative
my temp gauge is toast, how hard is it to get at and change or can I just add one on the sending unit I changed it its the gauge is toast THX

It could be the stepper motor in the cluster. You can buy new stepper motor kits on ebay and replace that first and see if that is the issue. If you have basic soldering skills then it is a no brainer.

No problem. Also, the common though is if one motor has gone bad the others will soon follow. So if you're ripping the cluster apart you might as well replace all of the steppers. Just a thought.
