Hey all,
I thought I would bring this up in case anyone else is experiencing the same issues.

This year, same as last and many before that, I am doing my taxes. Its the same old same old..... Same amount of money, same adjustments, same deductions, and the same credits. The amounts hardly sway... a few hundred dollar increase is basically offset by a few hundred dollar decrease somewhere else.
(In fact I think in the end, I still ended up making less then I did last year by 300 bucks)

Ok, so then I look at my refund and I was like "wait a minute!?".
I pull out the tax paperwork for last year and I noticed the difference. My refund is nearly 1500 dollars less just on Federal alone.
I went through the paperwork and compared it and the amounts for each section are nearly identical.
So that should shows you that the government and all their over spending idiots up there are taking a HUGE chunk out of my return.
So you can see that all the democraps on Capitol Hill are making adjustments for how much they have been over spending, and over course it comes out of my pocket.
I am sure that this also ObamaCare kicking us in the ***. Last year it wasnt enacted, and now that it is..... our refund amounts drop considerably. They did state those who didnt sign up for it would have to pay a fine. So the fine is nearly all my refund. Funny how they look at it.... Get Oamacare and pay exorbant prices, or dont get it and still pay the exorbant prices - but now you dont get anything for it... including that crappy Obamacare.

Now I am sure there are some out there that are saying "be thankful you got a refund" and I am... BUT this is something to think about... If I had gotten a refund and yet such a large chunk was taken out because of our government... What about those who didnt get a refund... is it possible they would have gotten a refund if this tax setup and these penalties werent enacted? Think about it guys.... you could have possibly gotten a refund instead of not or instead of paying - all because of this new system they are on.

Like the commercial says - "Its Our Money"
Sorry but I didnt break my buttock 40+ hours a week 52 weeks a year with no vacation driving in traffic and 2 hours each way and missing time with my family just some some idiot fat cats on Capitol Hill can live life well (ie. like Pelosi and her private use of Air Force 2 just to fly home every weekend to see grandkids - yet I havent had a vacation in years).

Funny how Obama kept talking about he wouldnt tax and how its all the republicans fault..... yet here we are with the democrat led government deep in our pockets.

And yet out there in this land we call the United States, are the imbeciles who put these people into office. And I guarantee most of them have never stood a post and defended our country. Never risked a thing for this country or anyone but themselves. Hard to destroy what you have risked so much to protect.
And dont even get me started on the jackasses out there screaming about how our military is, yet they enjoy the freedom it provides and they enjoy the right to belittle the man that lost his life, or leg or arm or back keeping that person rights true.

Another reason why I think that our government should envoke a law stating that you cant hold office or vote if you havent served. This way you have a right and a reason for your vote, not just a "ehh because I can".
If you love your country enough to try to change it then you should love your country enough to protect it (but of course those that have helped destroy (change) this country are the ones that will be waiving the white flag as quickly as possible when China's tanks come rolling through)

I'm afraid to do my taxes this year. I had to pay almost $6k last year. Thanks to ObamaCare my paycheck went down even though I go a small raise. On top of that, I changed my deductions after realizing how much I owed so my paycheck got even smaller in hopes I won't owe as much this year.

If I was lazy and didn't work or irresponsible and didn't pay my mortgage the gov't would be throwing money at me. If I worked a low paying or part time job, I could get more money back as a "tax return" than I actually paid in. How's that for a bad joke?

You have no idea how many times I hear about people who arent working getting gobs of money from the "system"
One person was actually upset when the government "closed down" because she was afraid she wouldnt get her checks and such. She was telling me she gets 800 dollars alone just in food stamps. I was like WTF!!?? And because of the government closing down she might actually have to get a job now. All I could think was oh whoa is her what a tradegy.
Meanwhile, there are people who served their country and cant even get a meal, let alone 800 in food stamps.

Oh and mentioning Obamacare... dont be surprised if in a few years you see the VA hosting the care for those on Obamacare.
The VA, even though having nicer buildings and more staff now, is still the same ole crappy medical service.
But I digress since that is another topic

 

You are right, I haven't seen a refund in 20 years. If you think it is bad now just wait until we have to actually start paying off some of what we have borrowed. The federal government is the most fiscally irresponsible organization on the planet. And we get stuck with bill.

 

these problems will be fond memories as the policies of this govt really settle in.
btw, i know a guy working ak walmart making?12-15 k, AND getting $2000 each month for his "disability", the bad back that is indetectable as he makes his rounds!!
so he is getting about the equivalent of $45000?, loafing around as a greeter.
most of us dont have the stomach for that level of corruption.

Is it the fault of the working man that 47% of the country pays no tax? The illegals are running wild. The government will Cater to this sh$t since that is there voting base. All of our politicians are extremely wealthy so why the F would they care. Your loss of 1500 is just a night out for the Jack off's

We paid a total of $26,600 in taxes but should have paid over $32k. To pay that much in taxes I would rather give someone a job and pay them a $32k salary then give that money to the dip **** government!

 

That was me last year. I always try to adjust my deductions to stay as close to zero as possible. I don't want to send them a big check every year, nor do I want to give the gov't an interest free loan. The perfect outcome would be to get about $50 back from fed and state.

After last years surprise I'm fearful of my taxes this year. What is even more frightening is that my boys are 10 and 14 (soon to be 11 and 15), and Obama and the Dems are already spending their life savings before they earn it. Our kids and grandchildren are going to be stuck with the bill for what the gov't is spending today.

 

I completely agree with everything everyone has said.
I sit here typing as a disabled vet who after being blown out of an APV and had 5 large chunks of shrapnel pulled from my back during Desert Storm, I still managed to work despite the pain and obtain my bachelors in Nursing, practiced for 15 years and supported my family.
Meanwhile, I see people sucking off the government tit so much that you can see them getting fat and the tit getting dried up. My father (another war veteran of Vietnam - also disabled from that war) has said to me that basically America has become one big cookie jar with everyone's hands in it trying to get that last cookie. No one is willing to work or fight or do anything that benefits them through the success of our country.... everyone is just looking out for themselves.

Unfortuneately those who we have placed into office have found their free ride. With an unlimited amount of funds at hand. I mean think about it.... they want a raise... they get it but yet I dont remember the last time I got a pay increase (hence as I said in the original post.... same amount of money same deductions.....). They get vacations, they get health care, they get everything. They are no longer people who represent the people who placed them there. The elected dont even really consider the people who put them there anymore.

Like LJ said, we should have some say so in our money. $32k is an obscene amount of cash to be sending to the government and I am sure they didnt make so much that it feels like nothing to pay 32k to the government. I mean hell.... they just bought a brand new car for someone. It sickens me.

and Skeptic is right too... they are spending money so hard that our kids and grandkids will pay the bills and pay it hard.... and think about us at 70-80-90 years old trying to pay it off to with the income we receive.

This country is circling the drain and China is waiting.
Our Commander in Chump is leading us down this road and there is no end in site. I knew after Bush1 left office with Clinton coming in our country was doomed. I mean hello anyone remember NAFTA?

Anyways, I feel sorry for 3hummers and everyone else out there that gets no refund or has to pay...
Personally I wish i could run for president and get in there with the old Reagan attitude of "I dont care what you think, I have a job to do and it is to make this country great!"
And that he did. 8 years to make us so powerful that countries feared us, and now we are so weak that we are selling our land to China for our debts (even though we have nothing to show for those debts), we have a smaller military force, our President curtsies to leaders of other nations, selling off our secrets, and it has basically become an every man for himself free for all on this Titanic
.... and whats really sad is people see it but nothing is changed.

(and Lord I pray for our country now but if Hillary is elected I think I will be jumping ship - Belize sounds nice)
