Default Swap H3 PCM 07 for 08/09?

I tried a search, but not finding my answer. You guys have been an incredible source for info last 2 years owning my H3.
i have 07' Adventurer package 3.7L
Can I swap my PCM out with 08 or 09' to use CAN communications for tuning Throttle response and firming up shifts?
Have tried tuners but none of them will read my current pcm. By swapping for newer pcm, with my VIN# placed on it, will that allow me to use CAN to communicate? Or is this much bigger than a simple swap and flash?

They use a different PCM, and therefore it is not a swap and play.

I have to ask, why not just pay a professional for a mail order tune, like 100s of others have done? Your 07 will grow some ***** with a tune, way beyond some throttle response and shift points.

Chevy Colorado Mail Order Tune ? PCM of NC, Inc.

Doc I have been asking locally, searching online, have not had much luck for the 07' it seems.
Right now all I have swapped is the K&N, along with your Air-Doc. I guess I was hoping to keep my options open as I may add to it and have ability to change things up at will.

I'm not against mail order if I can get some feedback and suggestions. I have 33's on it now, speedo is already calibrated. Biggest thing I wanted in a tune is throttle response. It's my daily driver right now about 13 miles each way on highway. She does fine with that.... It's the city driving that makes me want more pep.

If you have some suggestions, I'm all for it. Git a price from PCM of NC, but waiting to hear back about loaner unit, as I can't leave her sitting for week or two. Is there anybody else who knows the H3 well enough? Anybody better than next at low/mid range improvement?

Thank you for the response!

According to PCM "Sent-in PCMs are our first priority, and are typically shipped back out the next day. "

Assuming this is not your DD, sending your unit FEDEX Priority (10:30AM delivery) on Wednesday, most likely have it back on Friday, but I would confirm with them.

When you order the tune you can use their drill down list to indicate you have an intake, select how firm you want your shifts to be, take off the rev limiter, etc. Use the loaner program so you won't have any down time waiting for your tune to be shipped back.

The drive-ability improvement is YUGE. .. or is that yooooge?

You will definitely wonder why you waited so long, improves throttle response, kick down shift points, mid range and WOT by delaying up shift to keep you in the power band longer, might even improve mileage if you can stay out of the throttle.

Thanks Doc! I went snooping and noticed the list, I am going with this option. Did not realize had so many options with it. Hope to get it going on Monday.
Thanks again for your time.
